What is AssetChief?

AssetChief is an invaluable tool for securing and managing your organization's assets, from anywhere. Manage assets - including maintenance workflow, valuation, availability, instrumentation, location and documentation. Monitor assets to keep them secure and reliable.

With AssetChief you can manage all of the assets in your business - including traditional assets like equipment, machines, vehicles and buildings, but AssetChief understands that assets extend to everything that's valuable to your business - and so it lets you track nontraditional assets like employees, intellectual property, customers and assets temporarily put into your care such as delivery packages.

AssetChief provides a bridge between our sophisticated workflow database and tangible assets through simple-to-use QR codes and NFC tags that can be scanned by your phone, from anywhere, making managing assets convenient and accurate.

All organizations and even individuals own assets. What is an asset? Simply something that is valuable to you. Most assets need maintenance, they often need monitoring, and they all need to be kept safe.

AssetChief helps you keep what's valuable to you both secure and reliable. Each of these two aspects are related: An asset that is unreliable is a threat to business continuity and safety. An asset that isn't secure isn't reliable: think, for example, if an asset is stolen, or compromised in some way.

AssetChief helps you manage all aspects of your assets' security and reliability. From monitoring risks, recording who has used the asset, to keeping records of an asset's warranty, insurance and user guides. You can manage service requests and work orders for an asset, you can set up schedules for maintenance, you can monitor various readings and instrumentation for an asset - and then tie all of this together into a risk management report that gives you peace of mind.

Asset management is an age-old practice, but the methodology is always evolving as we learn the most efficient practices for maintaining what's most valuable to us. As part of this evolution, a new standard has emerged called ISO 55000. Support for this standard has been a primary focus of the design of AssetChief. To that end, we've added a section to the end of many chapters that explains how that particular feature relates to the standard, with the hope this will help organizations work towards compliance with ISO 55000 and the reliability it helps establish.

Some features that AssetChief provides:

1. Use your phone to tap an asset and access all its information. Have all your asset details at hand instantly, so you'll know exactly its maintenance history, where to order parts, and how much it's worth.

2. Get ahead of the game by making sure those inspections get done, so you can maintain stuff BEFORE it breaks down, which can cause massive disruption and cost a ton of money to fix.

3. Track work-orders to make sure they get assigned to the right person, completed correctly and on-time and verified by a supervisor.

4. See a visual map of where your assets are at any time, throughout your building, so you can easily assess security of valuable asset "hotspots" to protect what's most valuable to you.

5. Track the value of assets, with depreciation calculations, charts and the ability to export data to accounting systems.

6. Keep all your asset documentation, like user guides, warranty, insurance and even your own knowledge base - all in one place - precisely where you need it.

7. Record meter readings and instrumentation so you can get warning indicators, track trends and be prepared. Even automatically trigger requests when meter levels reach a certain value, so you can better prevent failure.

8. Track ALL kinds of assets. Whether it's a tractor or a key employee - and even non-tangible assets like patents and customers - AssetChief is there to help you manage everything that is valuable to your business.

9. Manage asset reservation booking, so you can track when assets are available to be used - with a simple interface your staff (or customers!) can use from their smartphone.

10. Make assets last longer, minimize business disruption, maximize the quality of work and get the kind of peace of mind that gives you more time for customer service - everything you need to beat the competition.

11. Avoid nasty surprises. Nobody likes unexpected bills. Between scheduled inspections, automatic meter- or time-based work orders, and age data for all your assets - you can all but avoid those nasty surprises when something breaks down and takes an unexpected bite out of your budget.
