On the Tours tab, click the "+" icon to create your own tour.
Here you must enter in the name/title of the tour, and can optionally enter a description below that. For now we'll leave the list of Checkpoints, as we'll enter those afterwards.
The Schedule area, that is collapsed by default, is an optional setting that lets you define a regular schedule that this particular tour should be performed. It will automatically assign the tour to the specific user (or a backup user if they're not available), sending them an email reminder.
But you can leave that for now and edit it later. So now just click OK to create the tour.
Once it's created, you can start adding your checkpoints. Each checkpoint will be a reference to an asset or location, so make sure you have your asset registry set up before you continue.
So now click on the tour that you created, and there'll see an area for the list of Checkpoints underneath:
The higlighted "+" icon shows where you add checkpoints to the tour. Each checkpoint is just a reference to an asset or location, so click "+" and you can set that now:
Underneath where you select the asset or location, you'll see an area to put in a checklist. This is optional, if you just want to register that the person has visited the location or asset and nothing else, then you don't need to put in a checklist.
If you do want them to check other things about the asset or location, then checklists can be very useful. We'll go through setting up a checklist now:
Here you can just enter in something to check, in both the title and description. Optionally you can specify a small icon to display, which should be an image no larger than 300 pixels. Such icons can be useful to visually identify what needs to be checked.
When the checklist is invoked, by default the inspector will be given the option of it passing or failing. They would only specify "fail" if the check failed and there was nothing they could do to fix the problem themselves.
However you can also ask them for more than just a pass or fail. If you optionally select a "Meter" from the asset, then they'll be prompted to enter in a numeric value in the Notes field, and that will be entered as a meter reading for that asset. We discuss meters and instrumentation in this section.
When you're done setting up that checklist item, you can add others by continuing to click the "+" icon underneath the form.
Once they're all entered, you can edit them underneath the tour at any time. You can also copy and paste the list to another checkpoint by using the Pick-Up Copy and Drop In List options at the end of the checklist list entry.
