The asset registry is your central database of assets. It'll be where you store all your information about assets, from the basics such as the name, when it was acquired, and original value to maintenance schedules, work orders and a knowledge base.
The asset registry in AssetChief is hierarchical: that means you can create folders and sub-folders of assets in order to structure them in an organized fashion. Assets can be either locations, individual assets or groups of assets. This means you can create a top level of locations, in each location have groups of (for instance) computer equipment, A/C units, desks, and telephones. Then in those groups, in the next level, you could add individual assets for Henry's desktop computer, for example.
