Many assets are dependent on other assets to function. A computer server is dependent on a network router, for example. It may also be dependent on a UPS. Likewise, a heating radiator may be dependent on a boiler and a pump.
If one of these dependent assets fail, then it will naturally affect all of the assets that depend on it.
It's important to know the dependencies of your assets so you can be better prepared to handle a failure.
Using this section you can have AssetChief automatically mark dependent assets as unavailable if they are dependent on assets that themselves are unavailable.
The Depends On area lets you set up conditions to control how the availability affects this asset. Just as you can make an asset unavailable if other assets are all unavailable, you can also make assets become available if other assets become available.
